Directing projects

Below you will find each of Leta Popescu’s performances placed in a specific category: Popular Theater / Collages / Devised Theater / From Novel to Show / Contemporary Drama  / Theatre for Young Audiences. The diversity of categories demonstrates the director’s interest in the functions of theater, from education to entertainment, from social criticism to audience development.

“I like to have order in the artistic directions I follow, so I work on directing projects and have several interests that are constantly developing. I am generally known for shows for mature audiences, and that’s normal, because that’s what I focus on the most. However, I have also expressed my curiosity and interest in theater for children (Gong Theater in Sibiu) and for teenagers, through collaborations with Replika-Bucharest and Reactor-Cluj.
Directing projects can be carried out over an open period of time or can be created only during a certain period or in a certain space. A short-term directing project is, for example, the Collages project, a trilogy from January 2019 to February 2020 that includes three shows: (IN)VISIBLE, (IN)CREDIBILE, (IN)CORRECT.

The project currently underway is the Popular Theater project, which you can read about below and to which I will return later.
